‘Hidden fees’ is a loose term that is often used to describe fees that might not be easy to decipher or clear when reviewing a payment processing statement. They may also be known as ‘junk fees’ or ‘miscellaneous fees’. 

Some processing companies use confusing contracts, rates, jargon, and invoices to mislead merchants and hide the real cost of payment processing. Not all statements have hidden fees, and it will vary depending on your processor and agreement.
