FD150 WiFi setup: How to connect the First Data FD150 terminal to WiFi?
The FD150 terminal is a reliable solution for businesses that need efficient payment processing. One of its essential features is the ability to connect to WiFi.
Why connect your FD150 to WiFi?
Using WiFi for your FD150 terminal offers multiple benefits:
-
Portability: You can place the terminal anywhere within WiFi range, providing more flexibility in busy environments.
-
Convenience: Less cables are needed, making the setup cleaner and more manageable.
What you’ll need:
-
A wireless access point, modem or router.
-
Your WiFi network name (SSID) and password.
-
Optionally, a USB keyboard for easier data entry.
Step-by-step FD150 WiFi setup:
-
Power on the terminal
Plug in the FD150 terminal and switch it on. Wait for it to boot completely. -
Access the settings
From the home screen, press the Tool icon to open the settings menu. -
WiFi configuration
-
Tap WiFi in the settings menu.
-
Navigate to Security and ensure the security mode matches your WiFi network’s encryption type (WPA1, WPA2, etc.).
-
To change, touch the drop-down arrow and select a new option.
-
-
Enter network information
-
Input your network’s SSID.
-
Enter your WiFi password. If needed, use a USB keyboard for more efficient data entry.
-
Tip: SSID is the name assigned to your WiFi network.
Verify connection
Once connected, you can verify the status by navigating back to the WiFi section and selecting View Status, which will display the connection details.Troubleshooting
Weak signal: Move the terminal closer to your router or improve your network's coverage with a WiFi extender.
Incorrect details: Double-check the SSID and password to ensure they're entered correctly.
Restart the terminal: If the terminal doesn't connect, try restarting it to resolve any potential issues.
